#Love South Tyneside 2023 Awards

A huge Well Done! to our wonderful group who scooped not 1, but 2 awards at the Love South Tyneside ceremony held at the Customs House. WAVES Additional Needs Support Group picked up the 'Peoples Choice' award with Ray Spencer MBE quoting "With an incredible number of nominations from the families of children with complex needs, WAVES are described as not just a great support to the child, but also to the family of the child. They treat every individual with respect and understanding. It’s been suggested that Waves should receive recognition, so that others can find out about the critical support they give to those in most need in our community."
Our wonderful Chair Suzanne Jackson also picked up the '#Love South Tyneside Award', This category celebrates passionate people who work tirelessly to create opportunities, events and activities that inspire, promote pride in their area and involve people from all walks of life. Ray Spencer went onto say that " For the last 13 years, Suzanne has been involved in voluntary work supporting families who have a child with disabilities or additional needs. For the last 6 years, she has Chaired WAVES Additional Support Group. She has built this, along with a dedicated team, to offer many families in our area the support they desperately need. These families see WAVES as a lifeline, giving them a safe and supportive environment to take their children. Suzanne has accomplished the above as well as working hard Monday to Friday in the Probation Service.
Well Done WAVES !! We could not have achieved any of it without our fabulous members support !!
Waves becomes Registered Charity

Waves 1st Birthday Celebration.

Waves additional needs support group will be celebrating a wonderful 1 year of success and would love it if our members, friends and family's would join us in the celebration. We will have a disco, games, prizes, buffet and raffle this is a free event taking place at Bilton Hall on Saturday 29th September from 1-4pm.
Sophie is going to "Brave the shave for Waves"

This Saturday Sophie Elise Adams is bravely having her hair shaved off at WAVES to raise money for us ! there is still time to sponsor her. The Gazette will be coming at 2pm
Waves Become part of the Local Offer
19th January
Just before Christmas we were approached asking if we would consider being part of the Local Offer (to which we agreed). We are pleased to say that on Thursday 18th it was formally agreed. This is very good news for us and new potential members and just shows how far we have come.

Waves opened it doors for the first time! The day went great with lots of families coming along and celebrated with a superhero themed BBQ inthe sun!
Local Non-Profit Makes a Splash with Launch Night

Waves invited the public along to a free launch night to introduce the group and the team. The night was a huge success and raised £1,270 for the group.

Waves Hidden Treasures Launch Day.
18th April 2019
Waves Hidden Treasures launch day. Shop open from 11am & will be officially opened by Ray Spencer who is Waves patron. Gazette will be attending to take pics. There wil be cake/pie stalls, a teddy tombola & lots of bargains to be found in the shop. Lucky dip box for the kids with real hidden money for the kids who find to spend in the shop. Also on that day there is a neon party being held for the kids 2pm-4pm.
